TIME IS CLOSE

Once again the time is getting close for the elections. I have served as an election judge for several years here and am amazed how many voters come out when the presidential elections take place and fewer in our local or state elections take place.

ANYWAY.... I am writing to encourage all to take advantage of their citizenship right and vote on Nov 4th!

I will be serving as an election judge on Cedar mountain this year. This will be new to me, since I do not know the people up there. It will be a long day. I have to leave around 5:00am and be there until after 8:00pm for about 100 voters to be able to take advantage of this right.

I also feel it is a difficult day with many hard days ahead as our leaders have warned us... but am thankful for the words of hope given in general conference.

A Happy Couple

On Friday 17th of Oct Seth took Kristy by the hand and said "yes" kneeling at the altar as they established the Seth Culler Family in the St. George temple! It was a lovely wedding. The Brides dress was lovely and so where her pink shoes! Here are pictures of Seth and Kristy coming out of the side door in the temple to greet all the guess waiting outside ready to take pictures. Monica took the pictures. The middle picture is the Joseph Culler family, with Grandma Blanche. The right picture is Louise, Kristy, Seth, and Joe. It was a very lovely day to take pictures and there were other wedding parties on the grounds too.

The top row of pictures are: the Blatter family on the steps of the temple, Joe and Louise at the reception, see the pink shoes! It was a fun afternoon at the reception.

update on operation

Dolores had her shoulder - rotor cuff - operated on today. She said the doctor was glad she had it done, due to the tear being bigger than thought of. They had quite a bit of cleaning up to do. She was still under the effect of the block which she received, and would be until about midnight, when I talked to her tonight. She also has a tube in her shoulder which will be removed on Saturday. Clyde is currently her nurse and caregiver at home. She will be going to rehabilaton/therapy tomorrow. We wish her a speedy and complete recovery. I know she would love to hear from ya all....

DON VANCE FAMILY WEEKEND NEWS

The Zinns said they got ½ inch of rain this last weekend, it is cold. It was 22 degrees this morning (Monday 13th), so the wood stove is getting back into working order. School is going forward and they are still playing ‘catch up’ since they got a late start because of not getting their materials and computers early enough. But all is going forward.

11 Oct 2008 Saturday Morning at 10:12: The snow is falling pretty hard. It’s covering the ground almost completely. An hour ago there were no signs of this white stuff. Gary kept debating what to do for their campout on Friday night. Instead of going into Ogden where they would then hike into camp they went to the church farms, which is only a few miles from where we live. HOWever, I wonder if they had their tents down before this sticky-wet substance starting dumping out of the sky. Thankfully, this last week I planted my tulips (I got some for my birthday) Just two days ago I went and bought the kids who needed a coat for the winter one. It makes me wonder if the framers almanac is going to right. What kind of winter is head????? (Hansens)

Mon, 13 Oct 2008 Thanks for the info. we have had rain, snow in the mountains around us, and very strong cold wind. However they did finish potato harvest Friday 10th around 4 pm and so Cory was home at 6 pm for the first time in 6 weeks, and he had Saturday 11th off the first one in 6 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Vances)

Autumn or Winter?

Today we went on a ride with our friends (Swapps) to the top of the mountain around the same area we were in this past summer and saw these colors as well as SNOW! This is about where they call Griffth top, about 10,000 feet in elevation. Our neighbor was antelope hunting and we were invited to go with him and his wife (Frank & Bonnie). It was very colorful and wet!

Summer Sunflower's in Nevada!

There are so many wild sunflower's growing every where around my in-law's yard. I love this type of flower, and especially love to take pictures of them! Here is one out of many that I have shot this summer! Enjoy!
